Recruitment Consultants
Q)
When is a consultant not a consultant?
A)
When he's a "recruitment consultant"!
|
Don't be fooled by
the word "Consultant", because very few
recruiters can offer true consultancy
advice, because the job of "recruitment
consultant" in most recruitment firms
actually means "telesales
person".
|
|
The chances are that you have only ever
experienced the telesales approach - particularly if you
have been dealing with some of the more well known
agencies that operate in the UK.
Personal attention for the employer and the
candidates is impossible with typical agencies, mainly
because the staff turnover in recruitment agencies is so
high.
Did you know that the average recruiter
changes jobs every six months?
To the mass marketers in the recruitment
industry, the desires of the candidate mean
nothing.
To them, the candidate becomes just another
piece of paper to be shunted to any employer that might
be interested in a set of key words.
To operate in the consultancy arena requires
solid business knowledge, coupled with a deep enough
understanding of IT and the application of IT to be able
to effectively identify the correct individual for the
job.
Taken a stage further, it requires deep enough
knowledge to be able to accurately advise clients - not
just on which candidate is best for the job - but also
about how to attract top quality applications and then
convert those applications into productive and profitable
employees.
Choose your IT Recruiter with care and be
cautious of the telesales calls that serve only to disturb your
day.
Beware of envelopes and emails containing
unsolicited CV's of job applicants that seem too good to be
true - they usually are.
The best recruiters are the older,
traditional firms with a stable, mature staff who understand IT
and business. Steer clear of any IT recruiter under age 30,
they don't know a computer from an elephant.
I'll show you a better, more mature and
sensible way to recruit your IT personnel. Just call me, David
